Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy

During my Jr year in my fall semester of 2025 at TXST University, I was given the role as Wardrobe Supervisor for the bloody show Dracula. I gained a whirlwind of experiences from dealing with my first leadership role: handling a complex laundry schedule, dealing with unexpected fire alarms, and many other things that just come from the joys of theater. My main responsibilities included updating and finishing all the wardrobe paperwork in a timely manner, making sure all garments are accounted for, ironing and steaming, leading my team during the show and during laundry, doing 7 quick changes, helping the hair and make-up supervisor with handing off blood strawberries to actors, ensuring a clean and safe workplace for both tech personnel as well as actors, repairing or replacing costume pieces, and striking the dressing rooms and costume pieces when the show met its conclusion.

Steel Magnolias

Steel Magnolias was the show I was given to supervise at TX Shakespeare Summer Festival 2025 in Kilgor. My duties included completing wardrobe paperwork, ironing and steaming garments, doing repairs to jewelry and clothing, doing 4 quick changes, completing laundry, and overseeing that the changeover* from my show to the next show, Macbeth, went smoothly.

*Note: TX Shakespeare Festival in Kilgor would put on 2-3 shows a day, so changeover refers to checking in costume pieces from show 1 and checking out costume pieces from show 2. Since there was only on dressing room, we would move costume pieces out from the dressing rooms and on to their assigned rack, while also moving in the next show's costume pieces to the dressing rooms and checking them in.

Kiss Me Kate

Kiss Me Kate was our only musical of the season at the TX Shakespeare Summer Festival 2025 at Kilgore. For the first act my main duties included presetting costume pieces, doing a quality check on the ensemble, and going back and forth with costume pieces to re-set them in dressing rooms. During the second act I preset and did 3 quick changes, went back and forth with costume pieces to re-set them in dressing rooms, getting the backstage ready for changeover*, and after the show was over the wardrobe crew and supervisor would do the changeover to the next show.

*Note: TX Shakespeare Festival in Kilgor would put on 2-3 shows a day, so changeover refers to checking in costume pieces from show 1 and checking out costume pieces from show 2. Since there was only on dressing room, we would move costume pieces out from the dressing rooms and on to their assigned rack, while also moving in the next shows costume pieces to the dressing rooms and checking them in.

Princess and the Players

Princess and the players is a short children's play exclusively preformed at the TX Shakespeare Summer Festival 2025 in Kilgor. I was in charge of presetting costumes in set pieces and backstage, doing 5 quick changes, getting the costumes ready for changeover, and doing changeover* with my supervisor.

Guys and Dolls

The spring semester of my sophomore year in 2025, I was assigned to Guys and Dolls as wardrobe crew at TXST University. My duties included checking in and out my assigned actor's costume pieces, ironing and steaming garments, doing 1 quick change, doing quality checks on actors before big numbers, resetting costume pieces and jewelry that are thrown off stage, staying for laundry every other night, repairing costume pieces, and stepping into the tracks of a fellow wardrobe member when they were off sick.

Sister Act

Sister Act was a big surprise in the fall semester of my sophomore year at TXST University in 2024. After the first rehearsal one of the wardrobe crew members had dropped out of the show, and I received a call that night asking me to fill in. My duties included checking in and out my assigned actors costume pieces, ironing and steaming garments, doing 9 quick changes, staying for laundry every other night, and repairing costume pieces.

URINETOWN

Urinetown was my first musical as wardrobe crew. It was during the spring semester of my freshmen year in 2024 at TXST University. My duties included checking in and out my assigned actor's costume pieces, ironing and steaming garments, presetting and doing 5 quick changes, staying for laundry every other night, and repairing costume pieces.

The Liar

My freshmen spring semester in 2024 at TXST University I was assigned The Liar which was my first ever play doing wardrobe crew, and cemented my love for the craft. It taught me how to handle duties like checking in and out my assigned actors costume pieces, ironing and steaming garments, presetting and doing 5 quick changes, how to sneak on stage for a quick change without the audience seeing me, simple hair and make-up, staying for laundry every other night, and repairing costume pieces.
